Michael Geiger was born in Marshall, Michigan in 1957 to Doris (Hummel) Geiger, and Richard Geiger as the eldest of three brothers. Growing up, Michael helped his father in their family-owned Pharmacy in Marshall; later, at the age of 17, he flew out to California with a few friends in pursuit of a musical career, which he found and nurtured over the years.
