After seeing a strange object flying in the sky at night, Roy Neary, a cable man, who once at night sees a bright object in the sky that causes him a sunburnt from its powerful light, struggles against investigating in the kind of that object and what is its purpose, the thing that challenges him and leads him to spend much time, searching for the truth.
