Escape from New York
In a story that looks so full of excitement and pleasure that New York City has become a huge prison state one day. That thrilling story began when one Air Force plane crashed on the island. A group of mercenaries may be assigned to the Plissken snake for a mission to save the president from criminals on the island and may be more dangerous.

Maybe it's not John Carpenter's best film, but it's one of his most fun and the premise is irresistible: in the future, Manhattan has been turned into a high security island prison and Liberty Island is the guard station.
