After young Bird (Jade Pettyjohn) moves from the San Fernando Valley to Echo Park, she learns that she has to become a woman whether she wants to or not when she gets her first period, finds herself abandoned by her immature stoner of a mom, and finds out that she'll never be able to return to the San Fernando Valley.
