The Karate Kid, Part 2
After learning that his father is dying, karate master Mr. Miyagi (Noriyuki 'Pat' Morita) returns home to Okinawa, bringing his protege, Daniel (Ralph Macchio), with him. There Miyagi confront his old rival, while Daniel inadvertently makes an enemy of his own.

It's a touch on the artificial side, but the sentiment still warms wonderfully, making Part II a lovely continuation, skillfully burning off the happy fumes left behind in 1984.
