The Money Pit
This story tells about a totally different comedy. That story begins with lawyer Walter Fielding and his musician Anna Crawley, who settle down to buy a rural property outside the city and are available at a surprisingly low price. In that simple house, it quickly becomes clear why the doors slip from its hinges and ladders roll, and the bathtub is in the ground, where there seem to be many things that look strange in this house.

Silly but engaging.

...enhanced by Hanks' increasingly hysterical and appropriately broad performance.

Worth seeing just for Hanks' performance ... and very little else.

Lacklustre star comedy.
February 22, 2003
A stop-and-go feature that would kill as a short.
June 20, 2004
Memorably hilarious, with ace work by the two leads.

Sometimes having the right actors in the movie can make or break it....thankfully, Hanks and Long are good

Slapstick comedy about the problems that come with a couple's purchase of a dilapidated suburban house.
