V - Season 1 (1983)
It's a series of adventures and science fiction that embodies a group of Aliens who pretend to be friendly coming to Earth. Aliens, like humans, have disguised themselves to implement new schemes. These aliens discover that the planet of aliens is dying, as the war for land begins and the plight is exploited.

What separates V from much TV and movie sci-fi is that it is more than scares and chases, although it has both. It is also an allegory about fascist takeover -- a pulp-comic 1984.

The acting is, for the most part, excellent. We have characters going through real trials, feeling real emotions, and the actors make it work.

The main lesson dates back at least to the 1940s and still holds up today: If you don't stand up for what's right when others are being singled out, there will be nobody left to stand up for you when it's your turn.
