Vox Lux (2018)
Description
It is the story of a deep struggle fought by this young girl Celeste (Ravi Cassidy). The beginning was a violent tragedy, but things turned completely after singing at a memorial service. One day, Celeste becomes a booming pop star with the help of her sister-in-law Stacey Martin and talent director Good Law, becoming a talented American pop icon. Celeste seems to be backing up her sixth album, a collection of scientific hymns called Vox Lux, which caused a sensation.

Vox Lux is truly invested in how pop music functions as salvation for many, even if it leads to damnation for one particularly jaded individual.

Through it all, Natalie Portman is a gamer, but in the case of this neon nightmare of a film, it was Game Over long before she hit the concert stage.

Powered along by Portman and Cassidy, Vox Lux has a lot to say, but, despite being very good in parts, misses out on its place at the top of the charts.

If you'll pardon another pop-writing cliché, there are plenty of killer singles here but not a full-length album.
