It's one episode so I don't want to get too ridiculous, but if Inmate 4587 is any indication of the rest of Season 7, this might rival Season 2 and 5.

An old plot device breathes new life into a series that's struggled to find stable footing.

I have a lot of questions about how competent the FBI really is if it's been 5 months and this guy is still on the loose.

Solid, twisty, and table-setting.

"Inmate #4587" may very well be the best season premiere in Arrow history, and that's saying a lot because Arrow knows how to kick off a season.

It is giving the rest of the cast a chance to stake out some of the A-story focus, so hopefully they can continue to find a good balance between those elements moving forward.

Something feels different this year. Beth Schwartz is the head of the ship now and, while we have no idea where in the hell it's headed, we're excited to get there.

It wasn't the best season premiere, but it was good, and the foreshadowing has me intrigued. I'm excited to see what the show has in store for us this season.

This was a solid episode and did the work it needed to as a premier, but several aspects - including Roy's inclusion - will likely be branded as "surprises" or "twists" even though we've known they were coming since the tail end of season 6.
October 16, 2018
This was a solid hook for Season 7 in my book, and it could keep people watching while the actual star of the series is rotting in prison.

In her first outing as showrunner, Beth Schwartz went for a little from both columns. The result, to put it plainly, ain't half bad.
