Pure - Season 1 (2019)
Description
It seems that the series will be varied through the drama and strong comedy we live here, where maybe it might be different for Marnie to attend a sexual addiction meeting, but she still does not explain what is going on in her mind about those ideas. On the other hand, it seems that Marnie finds a similar spirit in recovering the porn addict Charlie and approaching Amber and Joe by talking to a new job that could change things.

Part of a growing canon of struggling-urban-millennial comedies, Pure is a warm-hearted but unsentimental portrait of a 24 year old trying to overcome her fears of what kind of person she might be.
February 04, 2019
There are small tragedies and farcical scenarios aplenty, but they all add up to a funny, frank and non-exploitative portrayal of an inner world that's permanently on high alert.
February 08, 2019
It wants to tackle a thorny hard-to-tackle issue. But Pure is a drama without thorns. It's too pure for its own good.
February 04, 2019
Yet [Pure] is clever, witty and, oddly given the content, sometimes rather innocent and charming.
February 04, 2019
In the wrong clammy hands, Pure could be an exploitative horror show, yet instead of a grubby lurk around the runnels of somebody's XXX-rated fantasies, it feels fresh, funny and deeply empathetic.
February 04, 2019
The OCD takes something of a backseat in what starts, at least, as more conventional messed-up-girl-moves-to-the-big-city-to-find-herself drama, but if you liked all the other stuff like this, you'll like this too.

There is something missing: there are no standout laughs or particularly moving moments of emotion, so this first episode doesn't quite captivate.
February 08, 2019
Pure deals in extremes, but it is for anyone who at one time or another hasn't felt in control of their brain, and has experienced the awful fear, demoralisation, despair and loneliness that comes with it.

It's funny, grotesque and disorientating. And, in 30 minutes, it removes as much stigma as it does clothing.
