As it stands, the seventh, and possibly last, season of Curb, known for equal parts splendid absurdity and dry humor, runs the risk of ending on a mediocre note.

The "Seinfeld" plot doesn't kick off until the season's third episode. The first two, meanwhile, are a reminder of what a brilliant show, and a deep cast of characters, Larry has built.

I'm as surprised as the next jaded television viewer to report that the first episodes of the seventh season of "Curb Your Enthusiasm" have either won me over or just worn me down.
