In terms of the general tenor of humor, "Nice to Meet You, Walden Schmidt" felt pretty much like every other episode of Two and a Half Men that I've seen over the years: unrepentantly crude and/or cruel.

The problem here is that Lorre and company seem to be trying to retroactively fit a sweeter temperament into the middle of his most successful show in its ninth season, even though that show became famous for its aggressively cynical material.
